QUOTE
After Alex Rodriguez helped some team in some sport Leahy cares about win a world title, A-Rod evidently stopped being "the best player in all of American sports who will never win a championship." At least in the eyes of Dan Levy of The Sporting Blog.

Levy, a lapsed puckhead from The Great Lockout Purge of 2005, called us today to ask if there were any players in the NHL that would fit that description: A star player who will "will end his career with utter disappointment" by not hoisting the Stanley Cup.

If you where going to take a guess who would be your pick?

A player not on that list that won't: Shane Doan. As much as I hate saying it, but the Yotes, no matter where they play, are not winning a Cup anytime soon I think.

He mentions Joe Thornton in there, that's tough. I knew that for the Bruins to move forward he had to go but I still think he is a great player. I really would like to see him get a cup win, but I am beginning to agree that it's just not in the cards for him.

IMO, Shane Doan isn't on that list cause he's not the same caliber of player as the other guys. Sure, he's a good captain according to his team, and he's got a couple achievements with Team Canada, but his hockey talent is not up there with Thornton, Iginla, ect.

I think Luongo is a good pick for that list. Sorry Canucks fans (IMG:style_emoticons/default/gap.gif)

For whatever reason I think Doan's next contract at age 35 sees him play for a contender if the Coyotes don't develop into just that. He is always the center of trade talk as well.

Luongo is a coin toss if I was guessing. I get the feeling that if the Canucks don't do it in the next 2 or 3 seasons his window will close.

My name?

Dany Heatley. The worst part is I like Joe Thornton and Marleau and wish them the best of luck, so if I'm wrong it's all good. When it comes to Heatley, I admit I hope karma catches up with him. The Sens winning the cup would be awesome. lol.

I was thinking Heatley as well. He doesn't deserve a cup.
