Just got word that Edmonton scouts have been following the Tampa Bay Lightning as of late and might be close to a depth transaction for the services of Jeff Halpern.

Halpern may just be the faceoff specialist this team has been looking for ever since Stoll was dealt to Los Angeles. Halpern would also provide some veteran experience and help with shorthanded duties.

Thoughts?

It would be great to get another good faceoff man. I still maintain that their over use of Horcoff for faceoffs is directly contributing to his reduction in points. And when Horcoff isn't taking the faceoff, we're losing them too often and that's one of the reasons I PK was so bad last year and hasn't been great this year.
