The Blue Jackets schedule says goaltender Steve Mason has just one more visit to Vancouver this season on Jan. 5.
But Mason's strong start coupled with the poor play of Canadian Olympic front-runners Roberto Luongo and Martin Brodeur could require a change in plans.
Mason, 21, was one of five goalies invited to the Canadian Olympic orientation camp. He's the youngest of the group, which also includes Marc-Andre Fleury and Cam Ward, and remains the long shot in the field. Canada will take three goalies to the Winter Olympics held in Vancouver in February.
Brodeur, the NHL's winningest goalie and three-time Stanley Cup champion, and Luongo are considered locks. Fleury and Ward also have won Cups, making them the most likely choice to serve as the No. 3 goaltender.
