#1
Posted 13 December 2009 - 10:59 PM
Please select 2 of the remaining blogs that you would like to see make the next round in our Blog-Off Tournament...
Earl Sleek at Battle of California
SK's Blog at Ducks and Pucks
Anaheim Calling
Andy Elvstrand
This week we ask you to select which blog does the best at presenting both sides of every story?
For every member that takes the time to click these links, check these blogs out, vote in the poll and impress me with a critique on any one blog mentioned, I will be giving out Jersey Awards throughout the contest.
So let's hear what you have to say... and let's please try our best to be constructive with our words.
(This tourney encourages fans of all teams to participate and not just fans of the team in question.)

You got some good blogs to choose from. I don't know too much about Andy's blog as I've only had a chance to read it once or twice, however he seems to have a very good setup and interesting posts. Ducks and Pucks is always a fun Ducks blog to read as SK always finds a way to entertain. In the end though, I had to vote form Earl and Anaheim Calling.
Earl Sleek (Battle of California)
I've been reading Sleek and the rest of the Battle of California crew for years. Battle of California was the first hockey blog (other than James Myrtle) that I started to read on a regular basis. Also Earl and his wonderful cartoons were what originally inspired me to start my own (slightly inactive) Ducks Blog. Plus I feel the whole Battle of California setup seems to lend itself to present all three sides of the California hockey rivalry. One downside to Battle of California is that Sleek doesn't post much outside of the game day posts anymore.
Anaheim Calling
In truth, I'm what I would calling a fairly new reader to Anaheim Calling. I never read Anaheim Calling on a regular basis until they made the move to SB Nation. However since their move, they have in part taken the place of Battle of California as my premier blog for Ducks news. I now find myself in the comments, of their game day threads, with Arthur & Daniel during the majority of Ducks games this season. There is something about their chemistry and coauthored posts that seems to entertain me, more so than any other Ducks blog.

First I must say I'm very honoured to even be considered in this tournament. Considering how new my blog is, I'm surprised I made it this far down the contest. Things have been going fast, very fast. First this and suddenly I'm a Ducks blogger at HockeyIndepent.com. I've been able to get a solid core of followers at AndyDucks though, so I'll keep running it despite my new position. I probably won't go as deep into my posts there as I will on HI though, but I'll keep bringing the pre game reports and write some other notes when I have time and motivation.
Thanks for everyone voting for me, and good luck to the rest. I've heard about all of these other 3 blogs before as well as some of those who where eliminated earlier. Earl Sleek is the only one I've been following though, but I'm gonna keep an eye on the others more now as well. They are all good in different ways.

On a small side note, I must say that I think this Blog-Off was a great idea. Its nice to see all of the wonder Duck blogs that are out there on the internet. Plus it was your link of my blog in round one that lead me to discover this wonderful hockey site. I was quite surprised that someone other than Earl Sleek, Arthur and Daniel had actual seen my blog, far less thought of including it in your blog-off.
