This weekend, hockey players all over the U.S., Canada and the UK will flock to the Twin Cities for what ESPN has called one of the “101 things sports fans must experience before they die.” In celebration of the roots of this cold-weather sport, 254 teams will play in the fifth annual U.S. Pond Hockey Championships in Minneapolis.

Anybody ever get out to see and/or play this? I've always wanted to go, but find myself busy.

That sounds awesome. If I lived closer, I'd definitely go.

This would be awesome to see. Too bad I don't live in Minnesota. I guess if I did live there, I would go to Wild games as well.

I definitely have that on my bucket list. Especially, after watching the movie, Pond Hockey, a few weeks ago on the NHL Network. Pond Hockey is where our great sport was it's very best. I wish all the teams good luck this weekend and can't wait for the day I can see it live.

I watched the documentary too... it's on Hulu if people haven't seen it yet. Hulu link to Pond Hockey.
I'm not sure how much I want to go to the event personally... I'd rather go to a Wild game really. If I played hockey then hell yeah I'd want to go.

I haven't been out to see this at all. It does sound fun. It just stinks that the weather was crap and I had football on the brain all weekend.
