I definitely agree there. I was beyond amped when we got the Roberts/Neiuwy combo and I definitely think that is needed here. I really didn't want to lose Gelinas on the 3rd line, especially for that reason. I'd love a D-man especially. Not that McCabe isn't experienced, but I'd love a true winner to keep the D calmed down. Someone who'd be on the ice more often and that all forwards could turn around and look to while on the ice.

I looked at every roster the day I did that article and every team that's in a playoff positon has at least one player like that, and some have more obviously. A few of the bubble teams have them too.
We don't. No offence to Stillman or McCabe, but we need some true veteran leadership, and guys that can back it up.

Roberts was a friggin soldier, and Niewy was just a real class act.

That team and they way it was constructed had the right pieces, but the wrong coach behind the bench.

Oh, well. We are about to see very shoitly if we have learned anything.
