From Rich Chere

Quote

In response to an effort from the Lowell Devils Booster Club to keep the AHL affiliate in that city, Lou Lamoriello sent a letter to to that group saying it was "financially impossible" under a new lease.

The Devils will move their AHL farm team to Albany, N.Y., for the 2010-11 season.

Lamoriello's letter, dated May 19, was addressed to members of the Lowell Devils Booster Club...

The rest for the letter.

I definitely feel bad for the fans of the team, but it's business unfortunately.

It's sad to see them go: had a lot of fun going to the games, and will miss it.

It's a business, and it sucks there isn't a closer team to home. Manchester isn't really that far, but not as close as Lowell.

And by the way.... What was "the coolest team to ever play in the AHL"? Might that be the Lock Monsters?

That was the logo Bru was trying to post, I noticed in the properties of the X-ed out box.

That would be awesome, though would another AHL team move to Lowell with the low attendance issue? Probably not, unless they were in worse shape where they currently are.

One can hope...
