Giguere has been quoted as wanting to stay with the Ducks for the coming season, but that was before Allaire (his long time mentor) decided to move teams and rejoin Burke in Toronto. Do you think this will change Giguere's feelings about staying in Anaheim (and motivate him to waive his NTC) or do you think he'll stick out the remainder of his contract with the Ducks?

Allaire is credited with a role in Giguere's success, what was his role in Giguere's fall from grace?

I don't know that Allaire's departure will motivate Giguere as much as his role as Hillers backup would, if that indeed happens.

Are you saying that he'll waive the NTC to follow allaird? That's much easier said than done.

I was under the impression that it was important to him to stay where he was due to the climate and medical care required for his son....

I agree, I think that Giguere's being the back-up goaltender is way more of a factor than Alllaire. But, with Allaire leaving it does give Jiggy an option he didn't have previously.

That was my thoughts too on reading this... I think Giggy holds out until his contract finishes up, and I honestly see him retiring after that

I think he would still want to stay and be the starter here. He likes this team. He has no way of knowing how he'll feel in Toronto. Also, his son's doctors are in southern California, not Ontario.
