I heard that Backes was on the Today show this morning talking about USA hockey, but I missed it, However, as I just added NHL network to my cable, I got to watch NHL live, (the nhl's XM radio show 11am to 1pm Monday through Friday) it was kinda interesting on how he was hoping to make team USA team as a scorer or energy guy. Also, he was asked about running at goalies and he said that many goalie embellish hits and when out of the crease should be free game. Also, the mentioned Ott and you could see that he was trying to be as PC as possible, but he just said that he has quite a rep, but if you see him out at a bar or at dinner, he would still have a drink with him, b/c you have to respect everyone's different styles of play. But, he also when questioned about recent play of the blues, he said that the effort is there, but the team needs to work on the consistency point, "after a win, you can't celebrate it like just wining the Stanley cup, you have to go back out the next time out and do it again." Pretty interesting, I like how he seemed natural and didn't sound like all rehearsed answers.
