Caps outsider was a real let down for me. I give it credit for the youtube links visuals always provide user friendly visuals I think they had too many pictures in combination with the videos though. It also focuses too much on fights and grit of the Capitals rather then the team as a whole. I think it also needs more text plain and simple. I think it also needs to be updated in the next few days to be considered a recent and up to date blog.

Japer's Rink is far and away the most comprehensive - and popular - Caps blog of the four listed.

That said, it does have one major drawback. There is a prevalent "Hockeyer-than-Thou" attitude among some of the posters, who seem to think they are always right, and therefore, those who disagree are lesser. These posters have a tendency to make fun of people who make comments that they disagree with, and to continue to do so long after the thread should have died down. For the most part, those who comment are knowledgeable, and generally, the discussion is well thought-out, except when it degenerates into name-calling and sophomoric attempts at funny that often fall short.

That said, none of the other three blogs have regular commenters.

All four blogs, however, have good content. If I had to pick a second choice, I would have to go with On Frozen Blog, though, based on content.

Look, if I could take F&B, G.O.D., and BP down, I would, but I can't.

I voted (again) for Japers' Rink and Peerless.

I comment and read Japers' Rink several times a day, because as far as Caps news is concerned, there's nothing faster updated.

As far as the content asked for, Japers' used to do a far better job of "Telling both sides", but it's kind of drawing back. Right now, it seems if the bloggers have an opinion, everyone else (Mostly comment posters, and you'll very rarely see two of the bloggers disagree)kind of agrees, and disagreement isn't too common. Sometimes you'll post disagreement, and get kind of jumped on, but I'd rather have that than everyone agreeing (Which is what tends to happen over at OFB).

More to the subject, J.P. himself used to have a "Why the (other team) will win" segment, and I always thought that was neat. There were a lot of things that didn't survive the jump from .blogspot to SBNation, and I still don't know how I feel about the move (I guess it was for the better).

More on the idea of SBNation, there's no better way to get the other side. The Writers don't really need to tell the other side, because someone else can post a fan shot or a fan post, and if you want to know about the opponent, you can click their link in a game day post.

Irockthered nailed it when she said Japers' Rink was the most "comprehensive" Capitals site. The rest are good reads and for making you think, but there's far more content for your entertainment dollar at JR.

Japers Rink has loads of good content with four writers--JP, DMG (formerly Caps Blueline), Pepper (formerly The Red Skate), and Becca (formerly A View from the Cheap Seats).

Peerless has loads of good content with one guy--Peerless.

And that be why he's Peerless. :lol2: Besides, I like his content better, especially his "10s" reviews and "Things That Make You Hmmm..." observations. There's just a better variety of writing there, from simply entertaining to hardcore analysis. And it's all quality.
