Basically the two early untouchables are Kopitar and Halak. Gudbranson and Shattenkirk could go for forward help

According to the Cowboy Chronicle, it appears as though Calgary may be looking to get active in the LSHA trade market:

Speculation has already started around Cowtown as to which players may be shopped. It is expected that Tomas Plekanec and Jason Pominville will be shopped, as both are carrying salaries above the $5 million mark. Woody refused to comment on possible trade candidates. Regardless of what happens in the coming weeks, it will likely be an exciting time to be following the Cowboys!

With many other sizable salaries on the books, it is expected that the Cowboys are open to hearing offers on any of their players if the proposals open up cap space for GM Woody.

1) The Rockstars would be willing to give up (IE package) young NHL prospects (leddy, palmieri, dadonov etc) for a upgrade on offense.
2) There are some teams that are looking to hit the cap floor, a guy like Matt Stajan could do the trick - prospects or picks could probably get it done
3) All other prospects are fair game as well; Josi, Jurco, Kubalik, Grachev. A couple of those guys could be packaged in the right deal.

Theses are all First liners and 1st pair defense. Buff is pretty much untouchable, he's hands down my best Dman so the trade will take a forward that can make 40 points and a defensive prospect with good potential. Stats will take two really good forward prospects. Kessel, Wheeler, and Parenteau can be packaged for an elite forward and a 1st or 2nd pair Dman. If you are after one of those guys individually young and talented D could do the trick.

An anonymous leak from within the Calgary Cowboys organization shared some intel with the Cowboy Chronicle earlier today:

The team has received calls about a number of players. Currently they're considering offers on Tomas Plekanec, Troy Brouwer, David Legwand, Jason Pominville, and budding prospect, Brett Connolly.

Speculation from many pundits suggest that one, or possibly more of the players above may be moved before training camp.

The team is geared towards youth and boasts a very young forward group outside of a few veterans brought in to provide leadership and a way to get to the cap floor. The team is interested in making moves and possibly acquiring goaltending and forward help, but is not interested in trading star young players or top prospects for dinosaurs. The only players rumored to not be available are Getzlaf, Benn, Wilson, Letang, and Larsson.
