Saku Koivu‘s troublesome strained groin muscle has kept him out of eight consecutive Ducks games but he believes he is now at the point where his return to the lineup is imminent.
Talking extensively for the first time since he injured his groin on Dec. 8 in St. Louis, Koivu said he is to the point where it is possible that he can play either in Saturday’s New Year’s Eve home game against Colorado or on Wednesday against San Jose.
“We obviously tested it today [and it's] probably the most that we’ve done,” Koivu said. “Now we’ve got to see until later today and the morning to see how it reacts. But if everything goes well, we’ll see how it is tomorrow.
