With the Isles a ways from the playoff race, Garth Snow is preparing to be a seller come deadline day. Given the team's latest surge, mind you, his trigger is probably still a few weeks away.

At his disposal he has several depth defenders he can peddle off, given their contract status. But more interestingly, he might be offering up a top 6 forward due to the high demand for one. It is expected that Snow might be looking to add a 1st rounder for his troubles.

They better not get rid of PA. He's played well on every line he's been on and I just don't see the upside of shipping out one of our 40+ point guys.

I love Parenteau... I hope they dont trade him, but if they do, I hope it helps the Isles.

 Nope.
The Isles are only 3 games under NHL-500 with almost half a season to play.
The Isles are gonna go for it.
I think they are gonna fall just short, but they are gonna go for it.
The Isles want a winning season. They need it.
And I dont see them trading PA.

I don't see how Garth is a seller. The Islanders are by no means out of the hunt yet.

I don't think Garth's letting go of anyone, but that could be my wishful thinking talking, if only because I don't want to see PA go just yet.

I agree, they seem to actually be in the hunt as of late.

Doubtful.

For a realistic shot at the playoffs, this team would have to lose no more than 5 to 8 regulation losses the rest of the way.

But there is still a window of opportunity. We may fall short, we may make it. There is still a chance.

We might make it, we may not. Still a chance and a chance is all that is needed.

Isles are the first East team to have 3 different 40 point scorers.

They are scoring alot and the defense is play top notch lately and Nabokov has been stellar lately.

Its going to be tough, but hockey is a game all about tough.

Parenteau's name has been all over Edmonton radio as well, we all have to admit I'm sure he would garner a pile of attention if he was available, good player. At least if he does go the return should be very good.

Just for fun, my bet, Penguins or Wings.

Even if the Isles make it to ninth or tenth, that will be an improvement over last season. The idea is to fight hard- and when math rules them out finally, to be a speed bump for other teams jockeying for position.
However, I am of the opinion that they are of the mind to fight for that last playoff spot.

Me, too!
First and foremost I want the Islanders to have a winning season, record-wise... >82 points in 82 GP. And they can do it!

Who's gonna replace PA? No one next year. He'll be resigned so that player like Kabanov and Nino don't have to be rushed and develop properly. Nabby is the only tradable asset this year, maybe Eaton.

I agree, he makes the players around him better. He is a valuable player to the Isles.

Hi, I've had some family in the hospital the first half of the season, but everything is good now, so I'll be on more often, miss you guys lol.

Yeah we finally have some depth in the minors, especially next year. No need to rush them unless they're ready.

Bridgeport is sitting on top of their division, they have been winning like crazy lately- they just lost their first game in ages, and it was in the SO. Great stuff, so nice to know that the Isles farm team is having some success!

I don't see how the Islanders can turn this season around now in all honesty, Last in the Atlantic by 10 points, 20 points off top, 2 points of being last in the Eastern Conference and only 4 points off of being 29th. In all honesty I can't see you turning it around and whilst I can understand the never give up mentality I think it would take one hell of a run to turn it around now.

I can understand if Snow sells to build. I mean what's the point in risking a solid rebuild on a very very slim chance you can turn things around?

I cant figure out what you are trying to say there.
The Islanders are not "risking a rebuild" but not dumping young, talented players. Thinking that a team must dump young talented players in order to get better seems almost Millburian to me.

The Islanders are 6-3-1 in their last 10. If they do that a couple more times, they would be in the playoffs. But even if they fall short, it will be fine as lopng as they have a winning season. Thats what a bunch of us have been saying ehre, and with good reason.
