Philadelphia Flyers forward Scott Hartnell pleaded his innocence after delivering a knee to Magnus Paajarvi that knocked the Edmonton Oilers’ player out of Thursday night’s game.

"I was just finishing my check. That's part of my game, being physical," Hartnell told the Edmonton Journal during the postgame scrum. "Hopefully, he's all right. I don't know what happened to him or if he came back, but definitely there wasn't any intent to injury."

What do you guys think? League needs to hand down a suspension or not?

Either way a long season for Paajarvi just got longer. I haven't seen an update on his health yet, but that didn't look good.

I hate knee on knee hits. Should be suspension worthy.

They are never pretty.

I couldn't see an angle in that clip that turned my opinion on a suspension one way or another though to be honest.

Well there you go, no suspension. I think I would have liked to see a 5 minute major and a game at the time then, all things considered.

Yeah, that hit was ugly. Very fortunate. Still don't see how Hartnell doesn't get a suspension, though.
