Giroux is on a tear, racking up three goals and 15 assists in his last 13 games, including five assists against the Buffalo Sabres on Feb. 16. This season against the Islanders, Giroux has five assists.

Matt Moulson: With a first period score Tuesday night, Moulson picked up his 30th goal of the season, hitting that mark for the third consecutive season. Moulson became the first Islanders player since Ziggy Palffy to score 30 goals in three straight seasons.
Moulson has seen his goal and point totals increase every year since joining the Islanders in 2009-10. He is 28th in league scoring with 59 points, a career high. His consistency and durability are two of Moulson's best attributes, as he has appeared 234 straight games for the Islanders.

Sure they still lost... BUT, this time, the last few minutes were the minutes that were worth watching.
Close but no cigar, Isles.
At least they didnt let Bryz continue his shutout streak. And they got two so their goal isnt looked at as just a fluke.
He can still take consolation that his Flyers shutout streak was humangous big.

The New York Islanders made a furious push in the final six and a half minutes of the third period against the Philadelphia Flyers, but fell 3-2 to their division rivals Thursday night at Nassau Coliseum.
The Islanders trailed 3-0 entering the final seven minutes, but Michael Grabner and John Tavares scored 35 seconds apart, sending a jolt of energy through the team.
“We didn’t get the results we wanted,” Matt Martin said. “But when we finally beat [Ilya Bryzgalov] I think we had some life in the arena and the fans were great in the last 10 minutes. It got us going again.”
