Edmonton, AB - The Edmonton Oilers have agreed to terms with defenceman Oscar Klefbom on a three-year entry-level contract. Last year's 19th overall selection at the 2011 NHL Entry Draft spent the 2011-12 campaign with Farjestads BK Karlstad of the Swedish Elite League, posting two goals, four penalty minutes and a -1 rating in 33 games.

Klefbom, 18, also represented Team Sweden at the 2012 World Junior Championship in Calgary, earning a Gold Medal with a 1-0 overtime win over Team Russia.

Does this mean Klefbom will be coming to North America this year?

At one point, I heard that he was planning on one more year in Europe.

The Oilers would certainly benefit from having him in the lineup, that is for sure.

I was under the impression he was playing 1 more year in Europe, but who knows?

Maybe they have convinced him to come play in North America, even if that's not with the Oilers?

I think he'll stay over there one more year, but we'll see.
