The National Hockey League announced today the cancellation of the 2012 preseason schedule through Sept. 30. In addition, the 2012 Kraft Hockeyville preseason game, scheduled for Oct. 3 in Belleville, Ontario, has been postponed to 2013.

The cancellation of the schedule was necessary because of the absence of a Collective Bargaining Agreement between the NHL Players’ Association and the NHL.

While the Kraft Hockeyville game has been postponed, many of the scheduled celebrations in the winning community of Stirling-Rawdon, Ontario, will proceed as planned beginning on Sept. 30.

My wife is going to New York for her cousins wedding which is on the 6th of October. I fought tooth and nail to get out of going because there WAS a home preseason game that day and it was supposed to be the annual Mrs Linda tailgate. Now all that is shot to hell and I already looked like the asshole for missing the wedding for a preseason game. Now I'm missing it for a cancelled preseason game...but hey, I still don't have to go to New York and the wedding. I predict a week of burritos, pizza and beer...and that's just breakfast! :gap:

Yep. Minus the sports (except hockey) and video games for me. It's all about TV and bad B movies for me when she's gone. I wont even go to the bedroom the whole time. I'll fall asleep right there in the chair, beer in hand and then wake up and start all over where I left off. ^_^
