Adam Lowry is learning a new position to enhance his versatility, cherishing his return to full health and relishing the responsibility of serving as captain of the Swift Current Broncos.

The third-round pick (67th overall) of the Winnipeg Jets in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft is off to a solid start during his fourth Western Hockey League season, picking up nine goals and 21 points in 20 games to open the campaign.

“I’ve been happy with my start,” Lowry said in a telephone interview from Swift Current, Sask. on Monday afternoon. “I knew coming into the year it was going to be big for me because I missed the last half coming off (wrist) surgery. I wanted to get off to a good start, not only for myself but for the team.
