I visited Westgate today and was really surprised at all the shops that are gone. All of the shops west of the Yard House are now vacant. Plus the restaurant near Just Sports is now vacant as is the Coffe Shop that was in that area. How much of this is a fallout from the failure to make a decision on keeping the Coyotes. If this season is completely cancelled, I am sure more shops will fold and go elsewhere. Sad commentary for what was once supposed to be the highlight of Glendale Sport District.

The place over by Just Sports has been empty now for awhile. With the Coyotes ownership crap and the economy...it's surprising even more places aren't closed.

you, me, the business owners at westgate, and anyone with oh, say, half a brain would realize that without an anchor tenant bringing in 600,000 people into the area, the businesses there would suffer, and COG revenue would drop.......duuuuuhhhh.....the new council members and new mayor don't seem to realize this.....

I believe that the new mayor and council members believe the new outlet mall will make up for the loss of the Coyotes. I was at the outlet mall Saturday - huge crowd. Then I walked over to Westgate - hardly anyone there. Don't think this is going to work.

Yeah...back when the outlet mall opened up in Casa Grande like 1000 years ago people flocked there too. Once the newness and hype wore off it died way down. Right now it's Christmas shopping time and it's a brand new thing so of course the place is packed...something the city is foolish to think they can actually count on as a ongoing guaranteed thing...like the Coyotes would be.

I don't know. I have no reason to really ever drive that way. I would think it is. I have zero reason whatsoever to ever be in Glendale except for the Coyotes. Great reviews on plus.google though. lol. Happy Hour (11 AM-6 PM) prices look great. $2 domestic beer, $3 Import (.75 cents more each for bottled instead of draft), $3 well drinks.

Mmmmm, breakfast with beer, is there anything better?

Aside from supper and beer, obviously.

I drove down to Tucson yesterday and on the way I passed the outlet mall in Casa Grande. Like I was saying...that place was all the rage back in the mid 90's and was packed with top shelf stores. As I drove by yesterday I counted only 5 stores that were open. The whole rest of the place was empty.
