No one could blame the Calgary Flames coaching staff for choking on their turkey leftovers Boxing Day upon reading the injury reports from Europe.
According to play-by-play announcer Roman Jedlicka, Flames forward Jiri Hudler was rushed to hospital after taking a skate to the neck Wednesday while playing for Trinec of the Czech League.
Via Twitter, Jedlicka said Hudler required stitches but escaped catastrophic injury as the blade thankfully did not slice an artery.
