WILMINGTON, MA – There was some thought that the Bruins might make their first training camp cuts after Tuesday night’s Black and Gold scrimmage at TD Garden, but the same combination of players were out on the Ristuccia Arena practice ice on Wednesday morning.
The Providence hopefuls and veteran camp invites are still mixing it up with the Black and Gold incumbents, who didn’t look like they were all that worried about competition for their roster spots in this unique week-long camp.
Plenty of battle drills and 2-on-2 work in exactly the kind of “hard work” practice that one would expect during training camp, and nothing easy after all the players on the ice had 60 minutes of game intensity action about 16 hours ago.
This is going to come down to the wire, if not the first few games of the season. Some of those guys made a real good case for themselves.
There were some real ugly goals last night, but after their performance under a lot of pressure I am more than okay with the Rask/Khudobin tandem.
