I have a church group that meets on Tuesday nights so I won't be able to follow the Jets game tonight. I hope to find some good news when I return tonight. GO JETS GO! :shiny:

Just got home and find the Habs up 4-3 over the Jets. By the way why are the Canadiens nicknamed the Habs?

It's short for Les Habitants. The habitants were farmers and the original settlers of Quebec.

Cool. Thanks. Well the Habs finish off the 4-3 win over the Jets. Tough loss against a solid opponent on the road. Time to set our sights on the Panthers.

And before you ask, the H in the CH logo does NOT mean "Habitants." It means "hockey." Their official title is the Canadien Hockey Club.

They were formerly known as the Canadien Athletic Club. This is a replica of their original logo under that name.

I can swear that you were supporting Thrashers because you're from Alabama. But nowadays you support Jets.

Yeah and I admitted that when I posted in the welcome thread or whatever it's called. Is there something wrong with me supporting the Jets since they used to the Thrashers and the Thrashers were my team?

Oh, I haven't noticed that, my bad. No. But I instantly stopped to support them, yes they have same players which were in the Thrashers and I like them still but it's still wrong to steal team. I know it was ''must do'' but still I don't have any sympathies to Winnipeg.

I don't considering it "stealing" a team. I consider it not jumping off the bandwagon just because they moved. I just couldn't bring myself to stop supporting them when they kept a lot of the same players and are basically the same team that was the Thrashers just playing in a different city with a new name. Maybe if they had totally raided the roster and gotten new players I would have stopped supporting them but they didn't. I invested myself to that team with those players and I'm going to continue to support them. You're the first person I've come across online (since I don't know anyone in real life that likes hockey) that has had a problem with me steal supporting them.

I too may find myself in the same boat as you IF the Coyotes end up getting moved. And MightyPanthers is in Finland and his English is very good but sometimes what he says doesn't translate perfectly to English...just something to keep in mind. ;)

Does that mean you also don't cheer for the Avalanche, Coyotes and Hurricanes? One could argue that those teams were "stolen" too.
