After that display of so called Hockey in Calgary , I'd say the Hawks need to find "something" Tues night ,hmm maybe themselves ?
They seem to pick and choose who gets an all out effort and who doesn't. Lets see if I'm right , or if they've really misplaced themselves !

I'm going to this one tonight, should be a hell of a battle!

Sharks need this one of if they hope to keep the division lead over the Ducks.

Hopefully Nemo's Chicago experience will stifle their offense!

Sharks host Blackhawks in West showdown
Tuesday, 02.05.2013 / 2:03 AM
BLACKHAWKS (7-0-2) at SHARKS (7-1-1)

TV: NHLN-CA, CSN-CH, CSN=CA

Season series: This is the first of three meetings between the teams. The Sharks went 2-1-1 against the Blackhawks in 2011-12.

Big story: It’s a showdown featuring currently the top two teams in the Western Conference. Chicago became the lone NHL squad without a regulation loss after San Jose suffered a 2-1 defeat at Anaheim on Monday night.

Team scope:

Blackhawks: Corey Crawford’s early-season performance (5-0-2, 1.66 goals-against average) has received a lot of attention from the media, and rightfully so. But Ray Emery was downright brilliant Saturday night, stopped 45 shots to help the Blackhawks record a 3-2 shootout win at Calgary.

"That was criminal," Chicago coach Joel Quenneville said of Emery’s performance. "They've got to call the cops after that performance. He stole two points. He was spectacular. I've never ever been outplayed, out-chanced like that in my life."

Sharks: Logan Couture notched his sixth goal of the season Monday night, but it wasn’t enough as San Jose suffered its first regulation loss to the Ducks at the Honda Center. The Sharks certainly had their chances to extend their points streak to nine games, but ended up going 0-for-6 on the power play.

“I thought that let us down tonight,” San Jose coach Todd McLellan said. “That was, and has been, and will be, a huge part of our team. We didn’t get it done six times. We had every opportunity to at least put two up on the board and we just didn’t do our thing.”

Who’s hot: Blackhawks winger Patrick Kane has 13 points (four goals, nine assists) in nine games, while Marian Hossa is 6-4-10. … Four Sharks have already reached double digits in scoring – Joe Thornton (3-11-14), Patrick Marleau (9-5-14), Joe Pavelski (4-8-12) and Logan Couture (6-5-11).

Injury report: Chicago has been playing without defenseman Michal Rozsival (lower body) and forward Daniel Carcillo (knee). Dave Bolland missed Saturday’s game at Calgary with a lower-body injury. … San Jose remains without defenseman Brent Burns, who is on injured reserve following offseason hernia surgery.

Wow, Corey looks like shit so far. Poor technique on those last 2 goals.

:zipped_h4h:

And as I'm typing, Nemo matches his crappiness. WTF??

Well , as it looks the Blackhawks found themselves and brought everything they had to the Shark tank tonight. A tip of the Cap i guess is in order.

I hate to blame the refs because the Sharks should have played better too but wow, that was a really poorly called game for the Sharks.

Tough to watch that many turnovers in a single game. Drew and Randy mentioned we were leading the league in giveaways last game and now I'd have to think we're pulling away from the pack in giveaways.

Corey rebounded with some nice saves in the 2nd. He was soaking up shots too. I'm guessing Q was all over the D's ass during intermission as they only allowed 6 shots in the 2nd.

The Toews steal in front of the Sharks net (and subsequent feed to Kane for the go-ahead) was just criminal. He had another nice hustle play off Boyle at the end of the 1st but just couldn't convert. Johnny played great.

Yeah, that call on Desjardins was tough, but had the Sharks played better throughout the game, it would not have made such an impact. Good for the Blackhawks for playing a tough game against the Sharks. They did not let up. Looks like the wheels are falling off the cart already. Hope the coaches and players can pull it back together for the Coyotes game.

Match penalty to Desjardins already rescinded, but too late to do Sharks any good in 5-3 loss to Chicago

Not really surprised. That hit looked a lot worse real-time than in slo-mo. I watched it a couple times, and I didn't see a clear head shot nor did he appear to leave his feet (although the right skate was close).

I liken that call to the "defenseless" receiver rule in NFL football. I did like the way Keith went right after him to signal that we won't let you take shots without repercussions.
