If they make it any smaller they will be players soon!

They already are players!
(And yes, I know what you meant).

As part of the discussions, they should be put into any gear they are considering mandating, and shot pucks at for an hour.

Well, I'll be that guy.
Goalie equipment is way to big. They aren't talking about making the pads thinner, so this "safety" talk doesn't hold water in my eyes. They are talking about making the pads less wide. From the chest pad through the legs pads. Less area.
That not a bad idea at all. Goalie pads today are as bullshit as Ludwig's shin pads were back in the day. They aren't that big to provide more protection, they are that big to get an advantage.
I 100% believe goalie pads, all pads for that matter, should be regulated for size.
I agree with you Damned, but I am not so certain anything needs to be done in the name of scoring more goals across the board.
I watch the nightly score sheets and it would appear to me that we're seeing plenty of goals scored.

Pfft....this again? Just a bunch of suits trying to justify their useless jobs. All is well. Nothing to see here. Move along.

Goalie Pads are regulated... and I agree with you that they should be... but I think they are properly regulated right now...
is there any real issue with pad sizes right now

GMs to discuss size of goalie equipment

OK... how funny is it that Garth Snow is going to be in on this discussion? :)
Perhaps he'll be lobbying for bigger equipment?
