To me it looked like a hip check that unfortunately caught the knee. A bit late, but nothing Clutterbuck hasn't done to others in the past. I don't think there will be any further discipline on this.

I really don't think Hall intended that hit to turn out like it did. None the less it was a dangerous play and he will get suspended.
I'm betting 2 games.

The best thing we can see about the hit is that it's one Hall threw in an attempt to aboslutely nail a vulnerable player. I'm with damned, and think that if he's suspended, it won't be for a substantial amount of games.

Hall gets two games for this. I'm going to reserve comment on this until I calm down some.

Well, it's about what I thought it would be. As an Oilers fan, I don't think it's outrageous.

Ya, I figured there was no way he wasn't getting suspended.

Its not outrageous, but the local sportscaster went on and on that it was no where near enough and he got special treatment because he was a star. It just irritated me.

Yeah, I hear you on that, too. I really do. Mind you, I thought Louie DeBrusk also went too far in the other direction when trying to make the hit look more innocent. I'm with you, though: I think it's crap to say that he "only" got two games because he's a star player. He's also a player with no past in this regard, so it's not like he came in with dirty laundry.

One of Taylor Hall’s objectives this season was to do more of the hunting, rather than be the hunted.
So regardless of the fact he now has a record with the NHL’s department of
player safety, he intends to continue to play hard. And if that means
delivering a hit late in the game to ignite his team, that’s what the
Edmonton Oilers winger is going to do.

I'm fine with that comment and hope he follows through with it.
