Malkin has short-term memory loss

Evgeni Malkin has a concussion and short-term memory loss, Penguins coach Dan Bylsma said Sunday night.
“He is feeling fine and his memory is returning,” Bylsma said. “The short-term memory in instances he didn't remember is returning.”

Malkin was injured Friday night on a hard collision into the boards during a win at home over Florida.

The Pittsburgh Penguins will have to make do without Evgeni Malkin for the time being after placing their injured star on injured reserve retroactive to last Friday.

Head coach Dan Bylsma had already confirmed on Sunday that the team would without Malkin for their three-game road trip this week.

Team claims he is symptom free and has resumed skating.

Hopefully that's accurate.

It appears he has resumed skating. Symptom free? I think we'll have to wait on that.
